Alexia joined the ACLU of Maine’s Board of Directors in 2024, and currently serves on the Talent Management Committee. She joined the ACLU because she recognizes the importance of protecting and advancing civil rights, the rule of law, and confronting abuses of power.
Alexia was a trial lawyer for many years, beginning her career as law clerk to the chief judge of the Federal District Court of Maine, followed by an associate position in the trial and pro bono departments of a multi-national law firm in Washington, D.C. She left private practice for public service as a federal prosecutor with the Office of Independent Counsel and then the U.S. Attorney's Office, earning two Department of Justice Special Achievement Awards for her AUSA work focused on child victim and witness cases.
When she returned to her home state of Maine, she practiced civil and criminal litigation for several years as a partner at a Portland law firm, followed by over a decade as chief litigation and antitrust counsel at IDEXX Laboratories, Inc., headquartered in Maine. She currently serves on the cabinet for the Campaign for Justice, a unified effort by Maine's legal community to promote fairness in the justice system by raising funds for civil legal aid providers, ensuring legal assistance is accessible to all, regardless of income.
In her free time, Alexia enjoys cooking, reading, and outdoor sports. She lives with her family in Scarborough.
