Nancy joined the ACLU of Maine’s Board of Directors in 2021. Nancy was excited to volunteer her time with the ACLU of Maine, eager to contribute in ways beyond simply donating money. She was inspired by the organization's dedication to creating a more equitable world through advocacy, education, legislation, and policy work, in addition to its staff and programs.
Nancy serves as the chair of the Audit Committee and a member of the Finance Committee. She has also worked closely with staff and other board members to support the organization and its people through leadership transitions and the pandemic. She has been instrumental in building stronger connections between the board and staff and looks forward to creating more personal engagement moving forward.
She broadened her horizons with life experiences through friendships, travel, work, play, and the arts – all experiences she sees as more meaningful to her than any degrees or awards. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Wellesley College, where she also studied abroad at the University of Sussex. She earned her MBA from Stanford with a summer in Japan.
In her free time, you can find Nancy spending time with friends and family, outdoors, reading, gardening, baking, and volunteering. In addition to serving on the ACLU of Maine’s board, Nancy also serves on the boards of the Portland Public Library and the Maine Jewish Museum.
