Today we celebrate the fact that so many Mainers went to the polls to exercise their most fundamental right and to take a stand for justice, equality, and freedom.
Now, we must roll up our sleeves and shape this state and this country into the places we know they can be. Places where families are kept together, where transgender people feel at home, and where health care & education come before arrest and jail.
These issues go far beyond a single administration, party, or election. No matter who is in power, the ACLU will always work to guarantee the promises of the Constitution to everyone in Maine and across the nation.
