Kim Allen joined the ACLU of Maine in June 2023. She works closely with the policy, legal, and communications teams to engage ACLU supporters and donors to fund the fight for civil rights and liberties.
The ACLU of Maine’s mission attracted Kim to this work. She sees the fight to defend the civil rights and liberties of all people in Maine as more crucial than ever in the face of unprecedented attacks on reproductive freedom, LGBTQ equality, racial justice, and more.
Prior to working at the ACLU of Maine, Kim was the director of corporate engagement at United Way of Southern Maine. Earlier, Kim served as the athletic director at University of New England, a major gifts officer at Maine Public Broadcasting Network, and in leadership roles in several collegiate athletics programs. She earned a Bachelor of Science from Rutgers University and a Master of Education from Springfield College.
Kim enjoys spending time with her partner, Danielle, and their son, Lucas. She loves living along Maine’s rocky coast in Kennebunkport, spending time at the beach, visiting local restaurants, and walking by the ocean.
