Clean Elections Initiative Signature Delivery

We’re facing a problem in Augusta. Voting is the cornerstone of democracy, yet the enormous scale of spending on political campaigns is increasingly drowning out individual voices. But there’s a solution: we can expand the resources available for political participation so it isn’t just reserved for the wealthy, and increase transparency when it comes to who’s funding what. That’s why the ACLU of Maine is endorsing the Maine Clean Elections initiative.

Join us and Maine Citizens for Clean Elections on Wednesday, January 21 at the State House in Augusta to deliver over 80,000 signatures needed to qualify the initiative for the November 2015 ballot.

The Clean Elections initiative will restore and fully fund Maine's Clean Elections law, require outside groups to list their top funders on political ads, and increase accountability and transparency in campaign finance laws.
