Join the World Affairs Council and the Maine Immigrants' Rights Coalition for the first in a series of forums on the theme of "Celebrating Immigration" and the strategic economic opportunities presented by immigration to the state of Maine.
The forum will feature keynote presentations by James Tierney, Columbia Law School faculty member and former Maine Attorney General, and Eva Millona, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition (MIRA) as well as responses by community leaders, discussion, and refreshments.
In the midst of a contentious political climate for immigrants in Maine, the forum hopes to open a community dialogue examining the positive economic contributions of immigrants in Maine and the barriers to opportunity and integration through a series of events between January and June.
